T.G. Sheppard is recovering at home. The country star’s wife, singer Kelly Lang, said in a Facebook update Wednesday that her “precious man is coming HOME today!! Prayers answered!” His release comes just a day after he underwent surgery to correct an irregular heartbeat. In describing the situation to fans, Kelly said Monday that T.G. needed to have a lengthy but “somewhat minor” operation. On Tuesday, following the procedure, Lang admitted they’d had “a marathon day,” but everything went well.
The 70-year-old Sheppard was among the prominent country stars in the 1970s and ’80s. His 14 chart-topping hits include “Devil in the Bottle,” “Last Cheater’s Waltz,” “Slow Burn,” and “Only One You.” His most recent work includes the 2013 album “Iconic Duets,” a collaboration with Lang.
