Loretta Lynn is getting candid with “AARP” magazine. In the April/May issue, she admits the song that has made her most famous wasn’t planned. She says, “During a dinner break in a Wilburn Brothers show, I took my guitar to the bathroom, sat down and strummed, ‘Well, I was born a coal miner’s daughter.’ I didn’t really mean to write about it, but as soon as I sang that, I remember thinking to myself, You Know, that could be a good song!” She also discusses her near-death experience at the age of four and receiving the Medal of Freedom from President Obama.
