Craig Morgan is thanking fans for their outpouring of support following the tragic death of his teenage son. Nineteen-year-old Jerry Greer died during a water tubing accident on July 10th. Morgan released his first public statement on Facebook yesterday. He thanked everyone involved in the search for his son, as well as the people who’ve shown “unwavering support.” Greer’s body was recovered one day after the accident, and he was laid to rest last weekend.

The son of country star Craig Morgan and Karen Greer, Jerry Greer, is dead. E! News confirmed that Greer was found dead yesterday after he was reported missing Sunday night after a boating accident. The 19-year-old was tubing with a friend when they were thrown from the tube and into the water. Police are investigating the incident and say Greer was wearing a life jacket when he went under.

The 19-year-old son of Country Music singer Craig Morgan remains missing after a tubing accident on the Tennessee River in Huhreys County.

The emergency call came in just after 4 p.m. Sunday. More than 12 hours after the initial report, officials said the search has turned into a recovery mission.

Officials with the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the teen’s identity as Jerry Greer, son of Craig. Authorities said Greer was tubing with a friend near Mason’s Boat Dock in Waverly when the two collided. He went under and did not resurface. Both were wearing life jackets.

Morgan’s publicist released the following statement:  Recent Dickson County High School graduate Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer, went missing yesterday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Recovery efforts to locate him are underway. The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time.
