Blake Shelton is giving back to his home state. Last weekend, he presented a 600-thousand-dollar check to representatives from the Jimmy Everest Cancer Center, the only full-service children’s cancer program in Oklahoma. Shelton made the presentation on stage at his concert in Oklahoma City Saturday night. His donation was prompted by a cancer scare in his family. Shelton explained that his cousin’s young daughter was treated at the cancer center about a year ago. He added, “They don’t turn any kids away. You come in there, you got a problem, they don’t turn anybody away, so I thought ‘That’s a place that needs some money.”
Blake gets back to his other job on Season 11 of “The Voice”. This season two new coaches: Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus will join Adam Levine and Blake. For the first time, “The Voice” will have two female coaches calling the shots on the panel. Tune in to “The Voice,” on NBC Monday, September 19th at 8:00 pm.
