Dolly Parton’s “Christmas of Many Colors” finally has an air date. It’ll be shown on NBC on November 30th. It’ll come out on DVD on December 20th. The made-for-tv movie stars Jennifer Nettles, Ricky Schroeder and Alyvia Alyn Lind reprising their roles as Dolly’s mother, father and young Dolly. Dolly will serve as the narrator and make a special appearance as “the painted lady,” the woman she modeled her style after.

While on the “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” this week, Parton admitted that when she was little, she patterned her look after the town trollop. She said, “I thought she was the most beautiful thing, because she had all this makeup, hair, tight clothes and everything I wanted….So I thought, why not play the painted lady.”
