Country Music Hall of Famer Jean Shepard is dead. She passed away yesterday at the age of 82. Shepard scored hits in the 1950s and 60s with songs like “I Want to Go Where No One Wants Me” and “Beautiful Lies.” She’s most known for her duet with Ferlin Husky, “A Dear John Letter.” Shepard became a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011. Shepard was also a member of the Grand Ole Opry. She was inducted in November 1955 and last appeared on stage there in November 2015. She is the only female to reach 60-years of Opry membership.
