Rodney Crowell is set to release what’s being called some of his most intimate and accessible work to date. His album, “Close Ties,” comes out on March 31st. The project features songs about Crowell’s childhood in Texas, his arrival in Nashville, friends and lost love. Crowell says, “A few years ago I made a record called ‘The Houston Kid’ that triggered ‘Chinaberry Sidewalks’ (Crowell’s 2011 memoir). Those memory muscles are pretty strong in me. They have a natural pull. And so many of these songs use those memories as raw material.” “Close Ties” will be Crowell’s 15th solo album.
