Kenny Rogers and Kris Kristofferson are being honored by their home state. They’re among a prestigious group being presented with Texas Medal of Arts awards in February. The distinction celebrates artists and entertainers who call Texas home, and who have embodied Texan culture and helped to spread it all over the world. Rogers, a Houston native, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his nearly six-decade career. Kristofferson, born in Brownsville, will be honored with the Multimedia Award for his work as both a musician and an actor.
